Description

Millwrights and mill technicians help keep a mill running. They maintain equipment and grease and replace parts to prevent failures. Mill technicians also inventory equipment and document failures. Some technicians help design the floor layout and replace old machines to make the mill as efficient as possible. Mill technicians often need to know how to weld, fabricate metal, and replace sensors and wires inside mill machinery.

Work Environment

Millwrights and mill technicians work in and around the mill in all weather and conditions. Larger mills may operate 24 hours and require mill technicians to be on-call outside their regular work hours.
