Wildlife Furs Kit

Investigate the furbearers of Wisconsin with real fur from eight different species (red fox, mink, snowshoe hare, black bear, pine marten, ermine, muskrat, and coyote), along with tanned deer leather. Picture books and a field guide can supplement LEAF lessons about wildlife in forests. Beings on the Move, a KEEP activity, also considers how climate change impacts may affect these culturally-important species.

Furs are from the Outdoor Heritage Education Center.
