AgriSolar Kit

Solar panels and farming don’t have to be mutually exclusive. The purpose of KEEP’s AgriSolar Kit and lessons (coming soon) are to help students explore how land can be used for both agriculture and solar energy production. With miniature solar panels, students can investigate the impact of panel angle on solar production and create test circuits to run fans and buzzing bees. After examining the potential benefits of establishing agrivoltaic farms in their communities and creating a scale drawing of an AgriSolar farm, students can then use the tools in the kit to investigate how solar panels can influence the temperature, moisture levels, and other characteristics of the land under and near them.

(Ground-mounted solar panels not included.)
