OVERVIEW OF THE UW-STEVENS POINT AT WAUSAU AND NORTHCENTRAL TECHNICAL COLLEGE PARTNERSHIP<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) at Wausau and Northcentral Technical College (NTC) are proposing a seamless partnership to deliver mutually beneficial new degree options in Wausau. This collaboration will benefit students and serve the broader community in multiple ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through program partnership and co-location, we will be able to leverage the strengths of each institution, enhance educational pathways, drive workforce development, and support regional economic growth efficiently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

UWSP and NTC have a long-standing partnership that has created successful opportunities for students and the local community.  An expanded partnership between UWSP at Wausau and NTC presents a unique opportunity to build on these successes, further enriching the educational experience for students while benefiting the Northcentral region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under this partnership, UWSP at Wausau students relocating to the NTC campus will gain access to nearly all the resources and facilities available to NTC students. From state-of-the-art labs and academic support services to extracurricular activities, this partnership ensures that students from both institutions can thrive in an environment designed for their success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are all campuses open?<\/summary>

Yes, all campuses will remain open and available to students.\u00a0Beginning fall 2026, the location\u00a0of our Wausau campus will be\u00a0moved\u00a0to the\u00a0Northcentral Technical College.\u00a0The partnership strengthens, not reduces, student choice, and expands academic pathways for students at multiple levels all at one location, starting fall 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n

How do students apply?<\/summary>

Students will continue applying to each institution through their respective websites. Advisers at UWSP, UWSP at Wausau and NTC will work together to direct students based on educational needs and program offerings.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n

Will the application process change for Fall 2026?<\/summary>

Tuition and financial aid will continue to follow each institution\u2019s structure for the 2025-2026 academic year, with advisers guiding students to the best option for their interests and financial needs.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n

Co-located advisers from UWSP at Wausau and NTC will work together to help students seamlessly move into bachelor\u2019s programs\u2014many of which will now be offered in a familiar location for NTC students.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n

Implementation teams are being formed with internal experts in academics, student success, billing, financial aid, admissions, and more. Shared governance will also have representation on the team.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n

Who should prospective students contact?<\/summary>

Students should reach out to the institution that hosts their program of study. UWSP advisers in collaboration with UWSP Admissions will ensure students get into the correct career path.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n

What pathways exist between UWSP and NTC?<\/summary>

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Currently, 26 NTC programs are already articulated to UWSP. Additional pathways are being explored in health sciences, business, and other fields to better serve Central Wisconsin. Example: UWSP has seen an increase of nursing students from 60 students in 2024 to 120 students in 2025. UWSP and NTC are working together to meet the needs of these students. Other future programs include surgical technology. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/details>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
