About Us

Support the UW Wausau Campus Foundation

When you support the UW Wausau Campus Foundation, you help to write the future stories of students, faculty and the UW-Stevens Point at Wausau campus. What you give is not a handout - it is a hand up based on merit, need or both. Your gift might help a first-generation college student, or a student who will return to help our community after graduation, or perhaps a professor whose career development requires further education. Each of these and others benefit from scholarships, grants and programs supported by the UW Wausau Campus Foundation - and by you!

As a first-generation college student in 1992, the University of Wisconsin-Marathon County was a great fit for me to begin my college journey — and it saved me a lot of money as I stayed at home in Rothschild that first year. Thanks to my educational foundation at UW-Marathon County and UW-Stevens Point, I am very blessed to have had a successful career thus far, and even went on to get my master’s degree in educational leadership in 2001. I have taken on several leadership roles over the years, and most recently received a Most Influential Educator Award. I also am a teaching and learning specialist in my building, collaborating with teachers to continuously improve together. It is so rewarding!

Thank you, UWSP at Wausau and the UW Wausau Campus Foundation, for one of the greatest educational experiences I could have asked for, and for helping me finance this journey. The Wausau Campus Foundation played a large role in my attending UW-Stevens Point at Wausau in 2017-19 and helped me to not worry about financing my time here at this campus. Many other students and I have received scholarships through the foundation that allowed me to have this incredible experience. The foundation works hard to be able to give as many students as possible as much financial support as possible. As the oldest, and first child in my family off to college, The Foundation has made both my and my family’s lives easier.

At the end of my junior year of high school in central Florida, I didn’t have a plan for the year after graduation. One of the great things about UW-Stevens Point at Wausau, is that it can be the perfect launching pad for those with and without a plan. Thank you for the opportunities and support that you have provided me. As an ambassador at the Wausau branch campus in 2018-19, I’ve enjoyed not only being on the receiving end of the foundation’s generosity, but also on the side of aiding in the contributions and building of support for many of my classmates. With the support of those around me, I plan to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education at the Stevens Point campus.

Thank you so much for the ambassador scholarship. I came here two years ago as a kid who was unsure of what he wanted to do in life, and not confident in his academic ability. Now I have the inspiration to continue my academic journey, with the next step at UW-Madison, leading to medical school. A major factor in my experience here are the various scholarships I personally have been awarded. The Wausau Campus Foundation does so much for students like me and gives us the opportunity to focus on school while worrying less about paying for it. The foundation is a great example of the many things that make the Wausau Campus a truly wonderful and special place.
