Proposed budget cuts to the University of Wisconsin System have been the talk of the state since the beginning of the year. We've reported on lawmakers holding forums with local students and residents, but now the UW President is making a stop to an area campus.

"If you want to be prepared for a job go to a technical college. If you want to be prepared for a career, come to the university," UW System President Ray Cross said.

That was the emphasis at an open forum held by President Cross. He's visiting various campuses to hear ideas on the proposed budget cuts and on Friday, he was at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point.
