Doebler receives lifetime flute achievement award

A talented flutist retired to Laurel Park seven years ago, but his legacy continues to strike artists across the country and even the world.

Paul Doebler recently returned to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he spent 33 years teaching, to accept the 2016 Wisconsin Flute Festival Lifetime Achievement Award, which was presented to him at the 13th annual festival.

Doebler was invited to the festival to participate as a presenter, judicator and presenter, but a week before he arrived he went online to locate a schedule for the event. When he found the schedule, he also stumbled upon a picture of himself and an announcement of the award he was going to be presented.
