Enjoy
jazz favorites performed by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Jazz Band
in a concert on Tuesday, April 21. It will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Michelsen Hall
in the Noel Fine Arts Center.
Directed
by Brent Turney, the band will perform “Groove Merchant” by Jerome Richardson
and arranged by Thad Jones, “Salute to Glenn Miller” with Glenn Miller music
arranged by Jeff Hest, “Side Winder” by Lee Morgan and arranged by Mark Taylor,
“Star Dust” by Hoagy Carmichael and arranged by Art Dedrick, “Tall Cotton” by
Sammy Nestico, “Bossa Niecasa” by Lennie Niehaus and “Pussy Willow Stomp” by
Don Ellis.
The
event is part of the Music Department Scholarship Series. Tickets are $8.25 for
adults, $5.25 for senior citizens, $4.25 for students and free the day of the
concert for students with a UW-Stevens Point I.D. Tickets are available at the
