Introduce your child to playing an instrument during a free open house at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's Aber Suzuki Center this weekend.

Held Saturday, June 24, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Central Wisconsin Children's Museum Learning Landing Room, the event will begin with an instrument "petting zoo." Children may try playing a cello, flute, harp, violin and voice. At 10:30 a.m., Aber Suzuki Center students will present an outdoor mini-concert.

Parents of infants and children up to four years old may attend a demonstration of the Suzuki Early Childhood Education program at 10 or 10:45 a.m.

Faculty members will be available throughout the morning to answer questions, or stop by the registration table for information. Anyone who registers for lessons at the open house will get a $50 tuition rebate for lessons. A $99 certificate for four 20-minute lessons will also be available to those who want to "try out" music lessons.

The museum is at 1100 Main St., Stevens Point, with free parking.
