Pointers finish as runners-up for second straight season

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point men's hockey team had another excellent season, but must settle for runner-up status for the second consecutive year.

Three goals for Trinity College in the final four minutes of the national championship game Saturday, including a pair of empty-netters in the last minute, gave the Bantams a 5-2 victory over the Pointers.

Kyle Brodie and Nick D'Avolio scored goals for UW-Stevens Point. D'Avolio and Alex Brooks were named to the All-Tournament Team. Goalie Brandon Jaeger recorded 19 saves to become UW-Stevens Point's all-time leader in career saves with 2,037.

Congratulations to the Pointers on an excellent season!
