A small but passionate group of UW-Stevens Point students and faculty are ruffling some feathers as they look for new ways to deal with a large flock of geese that have become troublesome at a local park.

"Geese can become very territorial and aggressive. They won't cause a lot of direct harm to people, but it does cause a disturbance," said Jordan Meyer, UWSP wildlife ecology research assistant.

About 100 Canadian geese can frequently be found near the Pfiffner Park band shell and in the picnic areas. Aside from causing a disturbance with the people using those areas, the geese also leave behind a large trail of droppings.
