There has not been a major building project at UW- Stevens Point since the early 1970s. But that's changing in a big way.

UWSP's current science building was built in 1963. But more than 50-years later, it's definitely time for an upgrade.

Planning for the $75 million new facility began nearly two decades ago. Right now, the rooms are filled with workers. But when they're finished it will be filled with lecture halls and classrooms. There will also be dozens of labs and staff offices.

Eric Yonke is the interim dean of college of letters and science. He said the new facility will expand the university's research ability exponentially.
