A group of women will be getting a special lesson in fly fishing this weekend from the College of Natural Resources at UW-Stevens Point.

It's part of the Becoming an Outdoors Woman program, and director Peggy Farrell says the women will get a chance to learn all about trout fishing. "We've got about 10 women signed up to learn basic fly casting, reading the stream, stream ecology, and then they'll spend half a day with some really great, patient guides on Waupaca and Tomorrow River."

The Fly Fishing Workshop will be held at the Rose Farm on the Waupaca River Farrell says one instructor will be there for every two women, making sure everyone gets special hands on training. "By providing a place with trained instructors, who know how to work with this audience, we find we have really good success."
