Jeans and a sweatshirt, a prom dress, and a U.S. military uniform. All examples of clothing worn by sexual violence survivors.

All those items on display at UW-Stevens Point as part of Sexual Assault Awareness month.

Every detail down to the clothes they were wearing are forever burned into many sexual assault survivors memories.

“This is similar to the outfit that I was wearing at the time. It was skinny jeans that were rolled up at the ankles, sandals and then a black university shirt.” Kaitlyn Keech said as she is showing the replica outfit she was wearing the night her life took a turn. She still has the exact outfit she wore that night and keeps them in a bag at the top of her closet.

UW-Steven’s Point is focused on sexual assault prevention and making it a point to make sure sexual assault survivors have the right resources to heal on and off campus.
