Just days after 57-year-old Andrew Gokee was shot and killed in Minnesota, former colleagues at UW-Stevens Point are giving a closer look at who he was as a person.
Gokee, a Wisconsin Rapids man, worked for UWSP for more than two decades. He retired in April, 2017.
"Andy as a person and a man was dedicated and committed to the Native students and the community and the tribe," said Ron Strege, who worked with Gokee at UWSP for nearly 20 years. "It's just such a tragedy and such a loss."
In his time at UWSP, Gokee impacted many students and employees. Former colleagues said Gokee will be remembered for his passion and dedication.
