It'll be the 100th anniversary of the Puccini operas, and students from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point are getting a chance to perform in them.

The operas 'Suor Angelica,' and 'Gianni Schicchi,' are usually sung in Italian, but will each be performed in English when students take to the stage under the direction of director and producer, Matthew Markham.

The story of 'Suor Angelica' follows a sad tale of denied motherhood, while 'Gianni Schicchi,' is more of a comedy about how a family will become rich.

Both operas are set back in the 1920s of Wisconsin, and almost 40 different student singers will be participating in the shows.
