Toga run gets UW-Stevens Point Homecoming week underway

As couples held hands and walked through Schmeeckle Reserve on Tuesday night, a mob of university students sprinted past in togas.

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s homecoming week is underway, and this year’s theme — “Battle for Mount Olympus: Where Dogs Become Gods” — means all things Greek, from togas to an Olympic competition.

Homecoming for UWSP welcomes back alumni from around the world and includes several events leading up to the Saturday football game, this year against UW-River Falls. For students, it’s a chance to compete with each other by earning points in a number of homecoming competitions, ultimately winning the week and earning bragging rights.
