The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point started a yearlong project Tuesday to trace the origins and impact of Title IX, the landmark federal mandate for gender equality in U.S. school programs.
A lecture series will lead up to one of the university's most anticipated events and a demonstration of Title IX success, when Stevens Point will host the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Final Four Tournament.
Prior to the national tournament, UWSP officials hope to educate students and the general public on the significance the law has had on women’s rights.
