Kayla Bauer and Jessie Sargent say they both have seen first hand the uncomfortable effects social media can have on children.

Bauer and Sargent, 20, are both sophomores majoring in elementary education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. This morning, they were both in an educational technology class visited by Dr. Megan Moreno, the author of “Sex, Drugs ’n Facebook: A Parent’s Toolkit for Healthy Internet Use.” Dr. Moreno will speak from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Sentry Theater @1800, 1800 North Point Drive. The event is free, and free child care will be available at Schmeeckle Reserve Visitor Center during the discussion.
