The State Building Commission on Wednesday gave final approval to $13.44 million in renovations to two University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point dormitories, the seventh and eighth 1960s-era residence halls to be remodeled on the campus since 2008.

The project will remodel the 270-bed Watson Hall beginning in May and Thomson Hall, also 270 beds, a year later in May 2015. Both are in the campus’ north quadrant.
