Alumna honored as 'Bridge to the Future' award recipient

Barbara Hickman was honored as the 11th “Bridge to the Future” award recipient on Friday by the Stateline Community Foundation.
Hickman has been an active part of the Beloit community for more than 40 years. She graduated from high school in Beloit in 1956, and was inducted into the Beloit Memorial High School Hall of Fame in 2005....
...Hickman is looking forward to speaking at her alma mater, the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, on Dr. Martin Luther King’s day. Hickman, who graduated in 1960, was the first African-American woman to graduate from the college.
