‘Chalk Talk’ event with UW-Stevens Point alumnus Terry Porter

Keep March Madness going in April at an event bringing together alumni and friends of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and 1985 alumnus and Minnesota Timberwolves Assistant Coach Terry Porter.
“Chalk Talk with Terry Porter” will be held at the Target Center in Minneapolis on Saturday, April 6. It begins at 4:30 p.m. with a pre-game social and talk with Porter and a buffet dinner at 5:30 p.m. Choose from two seating areas for the 7 p.m. Timberwolves game against the Detroit Pistons. Tickets in the upper section are $50 and tickets in the lower level are $75. The talk, social time and dinner are included in the price.

A Milwaukee native, Porter played for the Pointers from 1981 to 1985. He began his National Basketball Association career with the Portland Trail Blazers and has played with the Timberwolves, Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs. He is the Trail Blazers' all-time assists leader and twice went to the NBA Finals with the team. He made 15,586 career points in 1,274 games.
In addition to the Timberwolves, his coaching career has included jobs with the Sacramento Kings, Milwaukee Bucks, Detroit Pistons and Phoenix Suns. Porter was named to the UW-Stevens Point Athletic Hall of Fame in 1992 and received the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1999.
