Schneider and her orchestra blur the lines between the genres of jazz, classical and big band, and became widely known after the release of their first recording, “Evanescence,” in 1994. Schneider writes her own compositions for the 17-member orchestra, tailoring them to distinctly highlight the unique voices of the group. Having earned two Grammy Award wins and nine nominations, they have performed at festivals and concert halls worldwide.
Schneider has received numerous guest conducting and commission invitations and has worked with more than 85 groups from 30 countries in Europe, South American, Australia, Asia and North America.
