UW-Stevens Point Campus Band, chamber ensembles in concert

The Campus Band will join with several student chamber ensembles for a concert at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Wednesday, Oct. 18. 

The performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Michelsen Hall of the Noel Fine Arts Center, conducted by Patrick Lawrence, associate professor of low brass and music education.

The program will include "Nimrod" from "Enigma Variations" by Edward Elgar, performed by the UW-Stevens Point Low Brass Choir. A wind instrument quartet will perform "Suite for Woodwind Quartet" by Leonid Sabaneyev. A horn quintet will perform "Die Bänkelsängerlieder" and a saxophone quartet will perform "Peace" by David Maslanka.

The Campus Band will perform "X Factor" by Michael Oare, conducted by music education major Keaton Galezio of West Bend, "Kentucky 1800" by Clare Grundman, "Hobbits Dance and Hymn" from "Symphony No. 1 The Lord of the Rings" by Johan de Meij and "[JUNGST]APOSED" by Craig Fitzpatrick.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $5 for UW-Stevens Point students, faculty and youth and free the day of the concert for students with a UW-Stevens Point I.D. if not sold out. Tickets also may be purchased at the door if available. Proceeds benefit student scholarships.
