A
holiday concert and sing-along offered by the Central State Chamber Orchestra
(CSCO) will benefit the Lincoln Center in Stevens Point.
The
concert will be held Saturday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Lincoln Senior Center,
1519 Water Street, Stevens Point. The concert is open to the public with a $3
donation to benefit the Lincoln Center. A reception will follow.
The
orchestra will play works by Mozart, Dello Joio, Telemann, Hofeldt and Leroy
Anderson. The Aurora String Quartet will perform two movements from “String
Quartet No. 8” by Dmitri Shostakovich. The program will conclude with a
traditional holiday sing-along.
Made
up of advanced junior high and senior high school students from central
Wisconsin, the CSCO is in its 15th season. CSCO members of the
Aurora String Quartet include violinists Lucas Chan and Roshini Traynor,
violist Antony Van Tiem and cellist Natalie Van Tiem. The CSCO’s founder and
musical director, David Becker, is a faculty member at the Aber Suzuki Center
at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
