Study Skills and Academic Coaching

What is Academic Coaching?

Academic Coaching provides opportunities to learn strategies to improve as a student, and to help with any issues you may be having academically, outside of the content of your courses. If you are looking for help with course content, you should meet with our content tutors in those areas. If you are looking for strategies for things like time management, study skills, test-taking or issues with test anxiety, motivation, textbook comprehension, or issues with learning online or learning from home, then Academic Coaching can help.

How does Academic Coaching Work?

Academic coaching is available at UWSP in three different forms. First, we offer individual meetings. If you would like to schedule an individual meeting, either through Zoom or in-person, you can do so through your navigate app, or by emailing Jake at jwozniak@uwsp.edu. Meetings can either be one-time or recurring, and usually take 20-30 minutes.

The next option for Academic Coaching are our Academic Coaching workshops. This semester, those are available only through Zoom, and cover a variety of topics from Note-Taking Strategies to Goal Setting to Learning from Home.

The third option for Academic Coaching is through credited classes offered through the TLC. Below are the courses offered this spring:

Time Management
PSL 104, Section 3

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11-11:50, 1st 8 weeks of the semester

Study Skills
Educ 105, Section 1

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11-11:50, Final 8 weeks of the semester
