Reporting options

The University has a number of resources available to support victim's mental and physical health as well as procedures for handling complaints of sexual assault and interpersonal violence within the University and through the criminal justice system. Here are your options.

Have your medical needs attended to at your local hospital or clinic.

Visit your primary care provider, local clinic or ER, or Student Health Service (Stevens Point students) to address any medical needs. Student Health Service is required to submit a report for statistical purposes. This report can be anonymous (student not named in report). See the student resources or employee resources links to find medical resources.

File an online report with the University.

Students, faculty, staff, visitors, and others may use the online forms to report sexual misconduct, including sexual assault, sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic abuse/violence, or stalking. If you are submitting a report for yourself or for a friend, anonymous reports are accepted (personally identifying information about the victim does not need to be included).

Responsible Employees are required to submit all information shared with them about an incident of interpersonal violence, to include the names of all individuals involved.

All faculty and staff are required to submit reports of sexual assault involving a student. Anonymous reports are accepted (personally identifying information about the victim is not included). Faculty and staff must always identify themselves as the reporting person.

Anyone can submit information to the University and all students, faculty, staff, and visitors are strongly encouraged to report concerns.

Find the online reports for or about students here.

Find the report for employees reporting being a victim here.

Meet with the University Title IX Coordinator or the Deputy Title IX Coordinator.

Meeting with the Title IX Coordinator does not obligate you to participate in an investigation or report the incident to the police. The Title IX staff will provide you with written information and discuss resources on and off campus, possible interim measures, how to report to law enforcement, and the institution's investigation process. It is the practice of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to always have a sexual assault advocate available at the this initial meeting.

The Title IX Coordinator is Eric Roesler; 715-346-3975; eroesler@uwsp.edu Office: Old Main 133 (Human Resources office)

Make a formal report to University Police or the appropriate law enforcement agency.

The Title IX Coordinator or Dean of Students office can help students file a formal report with University Police or the appropriate law enforcement agency. You can choose to report to both the University and the appropriate law enforcement agency for investigation and response. You can also choose to only report the incident to local law enforcement or only to the University.

The Title IX Coordinator or the Human Resources office can help employees file a formal report with the appropriate law enforcement agency.

Reporting to law enforcement does not obligate you to move forward with the legal/criminal process. It does however, ensure that law enforcement has a record in the event you do want to do something in the future.
