What are segregated fees?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Segregated fees are charges, in addition to instructional fees, assessed to all students for services, programs, and facilities that support the mission of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Segregated fees are divided into allocable and non-allocable. The allocable portion of segregated fees mainly supports student-organized activities, such as student government and student organizations. The non-allocable portion provides the main support for student services operations and facilities, such as student health service and the student union. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students have primary responsibility for the formulation of allocable segregated fee budgets, in consultation with the chancellor and subject to final confirmation by the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents. Final recommendations on non-allocable budgets rest with campus administration, although students have the opportunity to participate in the review process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Student Fee:<\/strong>\u00a0 A one-time fee assessed on all new first year and transfer students’ student bill during their first term of enrollment. This $125 fee covers costs associated with student recruitment, new student orientation and programming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Degree Completion Fee:<\/strong>  A one-time fee that is assessed per degree level; Associate, Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate.  This $80 fee is assessed to all students during the term in which they are to complete the credit requirements for a degree and have applied for graduation.  This fee covers programming costs associated with commencement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note that the New Student Fee and Degree Completion Fee have replaced the Matriculation Fee, effective with the Fall 2020 term.\u00a0 If a student has already been assessed a Matriculation Fee, these fees will not apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
