Vision for our future

For more than 125 years, UW-Stevens Point has served our students and our communities with pride, preparing our graduates for success in life and their careers.

As we begin a new decade, we are also embarking on a new chapter in the history of our university. We will plan our course in a thoughtful, strategic and inclusive way.

With input from faculty, staff, students and community partners, we will develop a five-year strategic plan for the university. The process is being guided by IPAC, our Integrated Planning Advisory Council, a group of faculty and staff members and student leader committed to this important work and to a transparent process.

The visioning step is completed and five strategic themes have been approved. We continue to need your ideas, your diversity and your passion for the mission of our university as we develop strategies, tactics and metrics.

Where we are in the process

As of May 1, 2021

The vision and goals of a Plan for Strategic Action were approved by the UW-Stevens Point Common Council in April 2020 and affirmed in April 2021 following revisions to align three strategic imperatives of Chancellor Thomas Gibson: academic excellence, inclusive excellence, and enrollment and growth. Executive sponsors are leading implementation with work groups that are identifying objectives and strategies for each of four  themes.

Thank you for participating

To all who joined a visioning session or completed a survey, thank you! We appreciate the time and insight of hundreds of faculty, staff, students, community members, alumni and other stakeholders.
