Career opportunities in Master of Science in Athletic Training

Upon graduation, students commonly attain jobs at clinics and high schools, many in Wisconsin and some in states as far as New York or Arizona. Some students choose to further their education at an advanced level in athletic training or a related field. Building your résumé

Clinical experiences start as soon as you are accepted into the athletic training program so you can begin to practice your skills as you learn them. Our teaching facility offers state-of-the art treatment and rehabilitation equipment, a cadaver laboratory and a classroom dedicated to athletic training. Your clinical experiences include rotation with area physicians as well as surgical observations to enhance your knowledge of illness and injury affecting the active population. You will also interact weekly with team physicians during on-site clinics at the UW-Stevens Point Sports Medicine Center.

Outside the classroom

​Students in the athletic training program are highly motivated and excited about their future. They are involved in the learning process, our Sports Medicine Club, service-learning projects in the community and our state and district professional organizations.

Student support services

The UW-Stevens Point athletic training program provides students with opportunities that utilize classroom and real-life experiences so students become valued athletic training professionals. Students are evaluated on skills and knowledge throughout each experience and receive feedback to encourage growth and improvement. To achieve certification in athletic training, students must graduate from a CAATE-accredited athletic training program and pass a national Board of Certification (BOC) examination.
