President's Welcome

My name is Will Scheder, and I have been given an amazing opportunity to serve as the President for the coming year. Whether this is your first time here, or if you are here on your final semester, welcome home.

The last year has been an incredibly difficult one, not just for us students but for professors, staff, family, and friends. Over the past year, we have had to whether the storm of the worst pandemic in a century. Last year was filled with turmoil and sorrow, with stress and anxiety. But we have pulled through, and the light at the end of the tunnel is drawing ever nearer.

I believe it is important for us to be grateful in hard times. It is easy to focus on the negatives, and it is easy to dwell on what we've lost. While it is important to remember those things, it is also important we remember what we do have. Be grateful for friends, family, and the people who support us. Be grateful for everything we've learned and gained, despite it all, and be grateful for being able to persevere through this.

As we round the curve on this terrible event, congratulations for getting through this; it was not easy learning in this environment, let alone working and staying involved and the million other things we do to be successful. That requires some fortitude, and it is something to be proud of.

This year will be one of new beginnings. Take advantage of this year, because one like it does not happen often. We will have the opportunity to not only go back to doing what we love, but also to grow as individuals and as a community. Push for change, not only around you but within yourself. Make this year one to remember.

And as always, SGA is here to help you. Please reach out to us- we exist to serve you. And if there is anything I can do for you, whether it be solving a problem on campus, pointing you in the right direction, or just lending a listening ear, please reach out to me at or call me at 715-319-1666.
