JinMan Jo

Bio

JinMan Jo’s work has been shown widely throughout the United States and in Korea. 

Solo exhibitions of his work have been presented at Rountree Art Gallery, Salem, OR, Art Access Gallery in Salt Lake City, UT; Gage Family Art Gallery, Augsburg College, Minneapolis, MN; Harry Krug Gallery, Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, KS and Blue Wave Gallery in Los Angeles, CA.  Korea solo exhibitions have been presented at the Chosun Gallery in Seoul, the Gail Art Museum in GaPyon, and in the Seosan Art Center in Seosan.  Jo’s group exhibitions include 6th Beautiful Environmental Exhibitions at the Chosun Gallery in Seoul, Korea and EXPO 27, a juried group show at the b.j. spoke gallery in Huntington, NY. 

His collections are included at the Gail Art Museum in GaPyon, Seosan Art Center, Seosan, National Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul, Korea, the Summit Street Gallery in Iowa City, IA, and the Utah State University College of Business in Logan, UT.  As a visiting artist, he has lectured at Konkuk University, Hongik Universuty, KyungHee University, University of Seoul in Seoul, Korea, Augsburg College, Minneapolis, MN and most recently at the Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, KS.  He has been twice honored with the Outstanding Achievement Award in contemporary Sculpture given by the International Sculpture Center.

JinMan Jo relates the process of creating sculpture to that of making entries in a personal journal. His work is self-reflective with a focus on his feelings and search for self-identity.
