We value students who bring more than just a strong academic record to the profession. Applications submitted via PTCAS are reviewed in two stages:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwsp-accordion blockspacetop blockspacebottom\"><div class=\"accordion\" id=\"\"><div class=\"panelcontainer nofirst\">\n<details class=\"wp-block-create-block-uwsp-accordion-section\"><summary class=\"accordion-heading\">Academic Readiness Review (Tier 1)<\/summary><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p>Academic Readiness Review \u2013 Applications are screened to ensure that minimum academic requirements have been met. This includes GRE scores, cumulative GPA, prerequisite GPA, prerequisite course completion, earned bachelor&#8217;s degree (or progress toward earning a bachelor&#8217;s degree), and time since taking the GRE and completing prerequisite courses. \u202f<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-create-block-uwsp-accordion-section\"><summary class=\"accordion-heading\">Attributes Review (Tier 2)<\/summary><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p>Attributes Review \u2013 Reviewers are blinded to academic information reviewed in Tier 1. Applications are reviews based upon non-academic elements of the application. This includes the PTCAS essay, answer to the supplemental program question, and experiences. Competitive applicants will show characteristics of leadership, well-rounded preparation, results orientation, strong communication skills, adaptability, and intentionality in the desire to pursue a career in physical therapy.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Timeline <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>UWSP will begin reviewing <a href=\"https:\/\/help.liaisonedu.com\/PTCAS_Applicant_Help_Center\/Submitting_and_Monitoring_Your_PTCAS_Application\/Verification_and_GPA_Calculations_for_PTCAS\/1_What_is_Verification%3F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">verified<\/a> applications and will continue reviewing applications until March 1 or until the class has been filled. Review will take place in groupings:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Group 1:<\/strong>\u202fApplicants who submit completed and verified applications to the program by\u202f<strong>Oct. 1<\/strong>\u202fwill be considered in the first group of students considered for admission; these students will receive admission decisions before any second group of students is considered.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Group 2: If there is availability in the cohort,\u202f<\/strong>applicants who submit completed and verified applications to the program after <strong>Oct. 1<\/strong> will be considered in the second applicant cohort; these students will receive admissions decisions before an additional group of students is considered.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The final deadline is\u202f<strong>March 1<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"visit\">Campus Visit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Group 1<\/strong>: Selected applicants in the priority review will receive an invitation to a full-day\u202fon-campus visit in the fall.\u202fParticipation in a campus visit will be considered in final admissions decisions.\u202fThe on-campus visit day will offer opportunities to learn more about our program, meet faculty and other prospective students, engage in a Q&amp;A session, and tour the department.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>All Other Applicants: <\/strong>In lieu of a campus visit, selected applicants will be required to submit a video submission to a standardized interview question.
