Our registration deadlines set up our students for success. To ensure your spot, apply early! If you happen to miss the deadline, you may still apply. However, we cannot guarantee space in any of our classes for that semester. You are still welcome to apply, but you may need to wait until the following semester to begin courses.<\/p>

This two-step application process typically takes 2-3 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STEP 1: APPLY TO THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-STEVENS POINT<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you are a degree-seeking<\/strong> student enrolling in master\u2019s in education program, you will apply as a graduate student at UWSP<\/a>. You must submit the following items to the university: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Official transcripts<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Letter of intent <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Resume <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    If you are a non-degree seeking<\/strong> student, only enrolling in an initial licensure program (ACEE, CWIC, FCS), or an add-on license program you will apply to the Special Non-Degree<\/a> section of UWSP. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Once you are accepted into the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and have received your eight-digit student UWSP ID #, proceed to Step 2<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    STEP 2: APPLY TO THE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Now that you have been accepted by the university, you need to apply and be accepted into your specific program within the School of Education. To apply to the School of Education, you will submit all your materials via our application portal<\/a>. Please do not submit applications unless they are complete and have all the materials requested.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    **Admission to the K-9 Elementary and Middle Add-on program requires specific admissions requirements<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Definition of Terms<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Unofficial Transcripts \u2013<\/strong> Submit all academic transcripts that contributed towards your bachelor\u2019s degree, INCLUDING transfer transcripts. Due to state statute, we must have an official copy of all transcripts from any institutions (colleges, universities, tech schools, etc.) you attended to earn your bachelor\u2019s degree. We cannot accept courses from a transcript that we do not have a copy of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Letter of Intent \u2013 <\/strong>Your letter of intent should describe in 2-3 brief paragraphs how this program fits into your future professional plans. Your letter will be considered when determining admission. If you are applying to a teacher licensing program (ACEE, CWIC or FCS), please address your readiness to be in a professional preparation program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Resume \u2013 <\/strong>Your resume should include your education, work experience, and professional development background. Your resume will be considered when determining admission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    License \u2013<\/strong> <\/strong>A teaching license is not required for the master\u2019s degree or the accelerated programs in special education (CWIC), elementary education (ACEE) or the family and consumer sciences program (initial licensure). If you do not have a teaching license and would like to earn an initial license while at UWSP, you can choose between our special education (CWIC) program<\/a>, family and consumer sciences program<\/a>, or elementary education program (ACEE)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Background Check<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. ViewPoint Screening<\/strong>: All initial teaching licensure programs (CWIC, ACEE and initial FCS licenses) need to complete the UWSP Viewpoint screening \u201cPre-Clinical Background Check\u201d or Recheck within the last 6 months: www.viewpointscreening.com\/uwsp<\/a>. There is a fee associated with this. Directions<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Wisconsin Department of Justice (Wisconsin DOJ) background check<\/a> is allowable for add-on license programs (you must already hold a teaching license to qualify for an add-on). There is a small fee associated with this. It may take a few days to get this. The results of this background check should be saved as a PDF and submitted with your application. We are not automatically sent the results from the DOJ. The online option is the quickest. Directions.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
      \n\n\n\n

      Minimum GPA<\/strong>: There is a 2.75 minimum GPA requirement to be accepted into all programs. Probationary admission will be considered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Once we receive all of your application materials, the program adviser will review your application. If they approve your enrollment, they will send you an acceptance letter providing further instructions. Once you receive your acceptance letter, proceed to Step 3. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      STEP 3: ENROLL IN CLASSES<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Once you are officially accepted into both the School of Education and UW-Stevens Point, you are ready to enroll in classes. The university will reach out to you with instructions on how to enroll. Your program adviser will work with you to ensure you enroll in the correct courses and complete your degree on time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
