Contract Cancellation

Prior to the Start of the Fall Semester of the Academic Year:

You must notify us to terminate your housing contract. You can do so by:

  • sending us an email (resliv@uwsp.edu) from your UWSP email account
  • sending us a letter (Residential Living, UW-Stevens Point, 601 Division Street, Stevens Point WI 54481)
  • sending us a fax (715-346-4459) 

In your email/letter, be certain to include 

  • your full name
  • your UWSP ID#
  • the reason you are terminating your contract
  • your signature (if you are sending your request via letter or fax) 

We will terminate your housing and dining contract upon receipt of your request only if you are eligible to terminate under the UW Board of Regents on-campus living requirement

If you send your request on or before July 1st, you are eligible for a credit of $100 of your $125 housing prepayment.

There are different termination requirements for residents of the Suites@201. Please review your contract for specifics. You are only able to terminate your contract if you are permanently leaving UWSP.


Terminating During the School Year:

Your housing contract is a binding contract for an entire academic year; however, if you are graduating, participating in a credit-bearing off-campus program outside of the Stevens Point area (i.e. study abroad), or no longer attending UWSP for the spring semester, you must cancel your spring housing. You are not permitted to terminate your contract to commute from home or to reside off-campus.

Mid-Semester

You can only terminate your housing contract for the current semester if you are withdrawing from the university.  

Residents withdrawing from the university have 24 hours after withdrawal to check out of their residence hall room.  

Once you have withdrawn from the university, please complete the following items below before leaving.

    • Return room to original condition
    • Return rented loft (for traditional halls only)
    • Check mailbox for mail and pick up any packages
    • Complete checkout with a CA
    • Return key and Saflok

Canceling at Semester

If you are graduating, participating in a credit-bearing off-campus program outside of the Stevens Point area (i.e. study abroad), or no longer attending UWSP for the spring semester, you must cancel your spring housing. You are not permitted to terminate your contract to commute from home or to reside off-campus.

Residents leaving the university at semester must be out of their room 24 hours after their last exam or 6pm on the Friday of finals week, whichever occurs first. Please complete the following items below before leaving.

    • Return room to original condition
    • Return rented loft (for traditional halls only)
    • Check mailbox for mail and pick up any packages
    • Complete checkout with a CA
    • Return key and Saflok

Failure to complete the check out process above by the deadline may result in late check out and/or improper check out fees.
