{"id":122,"date":"2026-05-15T23:15:36","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T23:15:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test-uwsp-multi.pantheonsite.io\/parking-services\/?page_id=122"},"modified":"2026-05-18T17:27:59","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T17:27:59","slug":"retired","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/parking-services\/retired\/","title":{"rendered":"Retired"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"bannerheight300 hero-fww bpcc blockspacebottom overlay-image-container\" style=\"background-image:url(https:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/parking-services\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/80\/2026\/05\/Lot-R-4-102622-scaled.jpg)\"><div class=\"smaller-banner\"><div class=\"bannerheight300 bpcc smaller-banner-image-container site-width\" style=\"background-image:url(https:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/parking-services\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/80\/2026\/05\/Lot-R-4-102622-scaled.jpg)\"><\/div><\/div><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"imgforsmallscrn\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/parking-services\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/80\/2026\/05\/Lot-R-4-102622-scaled.jpg\"\/><div class=\"overlay-text-backdrop\"><div class=\"bannerheight300 overlay-contentwidth\"><div class=\"hero-purple-bg overlay-pos-ll overlay-attach  overlay-text-container\"><div class=\"hh-mobile-textwidth\"><div class=\"overlay-headlineone\">Retired <\/div><div class=\"overlay-linkbuttons\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A RETIRED&nbsp;parking&nbsp;permit&nbsp;may be requested by contacting the Parking Services office via&nbsp;email&nbsp;at Parking.Services.Office@uwsp.edu (you can use the link at the bottom of the page after &#8220;direct comments to&#8221;).&nbsp;If you do not have access to email, you can call 715-346-3900 to be added to the list.&nbsp;&nbsp;Be sure to include your current mailing address in the email request, along with up to 2 vehicle license plates.&nbsp; RETIRED permits are complimentary at this time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Permits are&nbsp;virtual, so your LICENSE PLATE IS your PERMIT!&nbsp; License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology is used to capture and read a vehicle license plate to confirm that the vehicle is registered and has permission to park in the designated lot(s) on campus.&nbsp; Important:&nbsp; Vehicle license plates must be unobstructed, affixed to the bumper, and displayed in view from the driving lane of a parking space.\u200b\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of the success of the LPR program, permits no longer need to be renewed each year.&nbsp; The only&nbsp;renewals necessary are for changes or additions to vehicles you drive to campus.&nbsp; Simply send an email to Parking Services with the new\/changed vehicle information.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Retired permits may be issued&nbsp;to individuals meeting the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Retiree is eligible to receive WI Retirement System annuity payments for years of service\u200b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Retiree is at least 55 years of age<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Retiree completed 10 years of service at UWSP<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Retiree retired\/separated from UWSP in good standing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Retiree is not currently employed* by UWSP or in paid status<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Retired staff will have their work status verified by HR. The RETIRED permit is intended for &#8220;occasional&#8221; visits to campus, however, it&nbsp;is not meant for LIFE class&nbsp;attendance&nbsp;and\/or student\/work use. Permits are not transferable to another person or intended for student use.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The RETIRED permit&nbsp;is valid in lots R, S, T, and V<\/strong>.&nbsp;The permission&nbsp;is not&nbsp;valid in&nbsp;meters, fire zones, handicap stalls,&nbsp;reserved&nbsp;stalls,&nbsp;and\/or limited zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*Retired faculty\/staff returning in &#8220;work status&#8221; are&nbsp;<strong>NOT<\/strong>&nbsp;eligible for a RETIRED permit.
