Check Your Registration Appointment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All active students receive a registration appointment in accesSPoint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To find yours:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log into accesSPoint. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open the <strong>My Classes<\/strong> tile then <strong>Registration Dates.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the term. \n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Shopping Cart Appointment<\/strong> is when you can start adding classes to your cart.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Enrollment Appointment<\/strong> is when you can begin registering. You may register any time after this start time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If you miss your appointment, you may register once your appointment time has passed. A proxy can also register for you\u2014<a href=\"mailto:registrar@uwsp.edu\">contact the Office of the Registrar<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Check for Holds<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Open the <strong>Tasks <\/strong>tile to see if anything is blocking registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Required each term:<br><\/strong>Students must complete the <strong>Required Registration Actions<\/strong> in the Tasks tile.<br>This includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Updating contact information<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adding\/updating emergency contacts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Acknowledging the Financial Agreement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Your registration hold is removed once the task is submitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>International undergraduates:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Must pay the required insurance premium before registering for fall or spring. Pay online or at Student Financial Services. Questions regarding the insurance premium should be directed to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www3.uwsp.edu\/isss\/Pages\/default.aspx\">International Student and Scho\u200blar Services<\/a>\u200b (ISSS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Meet With Your Advisor<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Your advisor&#8217;s name appears in the <strong>Profile <\/strong>tile in accesSPoint under the <strong>Advisor <\/strong>link on the left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need an advisor: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have a declared major? If so, contact your major&#8217;s Department Chair to be assigned an advisor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have not declared a major, report to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www3.uwsp.edu\/ACAC\/Pages\/default.aspx\">Academic and Career Advising Center<\/a>, Room 209, Collins Classroom Center.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Before your advisor meeting:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Print your Degree Progress Report (DPR) from accesSPoint\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bring two copies of your materials. You and your advisor will build a course plan and alternates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review requirements for your major\/minor\/certificate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/catalog.uwsp.edu\/\">Course Catalog<\/a>&nbsp;for the descriptions of your recommended courses\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check course prerequisites<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Look up course offerings using <strong>Search for Classes<\/strong> tile in accesSPoint<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Obtain All Special Registration Authorizations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Some classes require <strong>Instructor Consent<\/strong> or <strong>Department Consent<\/strong> as noted in the Schedule of Classes. Request permissions <strong>before <\/strong>your registration appointment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Instructors can grant permissions for classes they teach which are Instructor Consent required.&nbsp; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Department consent must be granted by the department chair of the course.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If repeating a course, your advisor must approve and forward your request to the department chair. You will be able to add the course yourself online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some approvals require eForms (e.g., auditing a course, lifting the 12\u2011credit limit).<br>View available forms through the <strong>Forms<\/strong> tile in accesSPoint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Build Your Schedule<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In accesSPoint, open <strong>My Classes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add class sections to your Shopping Cart (permissions applied automatically).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use <a href=\"https:\/\/www3.uwsp.edu\/acadaff\/accesspoint\/help\/accesSPoint%20docs\/Schedule-Builder-Walkthrough.pdf\">Schedule Builder<\/a> to create potential schedules and send them to your cart.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Validate your cart to check for time conflicts and prerequisite issues. Revalidate periodically\u2014class schedules can change.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Register at Your Appointment Time<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When your enrollment window opens:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to your Shopping Cart and click <strong>Finish Enrolling<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A green checkmark means successful registration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A red X indicates an error and explains the issue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A registration kiosk is available in the Office of the Registrar (101 SSC). Staff can help with registration-related questions Monday\u2013Friday, 8:00 a.m.\u20134:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwsp-vtab-thetab\"><div class=\"vtab-tabtitle\">First-Year, Transfer, and Re-entry Students<i class=\"fa-solid fa-caret-right\"><\/i><\/div><div class=\"vtab-tabcontent\">\n<div class=\"vtab-content-column bgpurple\"><div>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>First-Year students<\/strong>&nbsp;will register during one-day orientation\/registration sessions. The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www3.uwsp.edu\/admissions\/Pages\/default.aspx\">Office of Admissions and Recruitment<\/a> will send you details about your session.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Transfers<\/strong>&nbsp;will register during a one-day orientation and registration session. Information about your registration date will be sent by the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www3.uwsp.edu\/admissions\/Pages\/default.aspx\">Office of Admissions and Recruitment<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Re-entr<\/strong>y <strong>Students <\/strong>will register<strong> <\/strong>with continuing students, based on your<strong> <\/strong>earned credits. Select non-degree seeking or special student during the application process. An online override from the department, if approved, will allow registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Closed Courses<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Students should check with the department of the course regarding their policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Repeating a Course<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Students must receive approval to repeat any UWSP course previously completed or transferred in. Electronic authorization from the advisor and department chair is required to prevent administrative removal from the class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Study Load<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The typical study load is 14\u201317 credits per semester. Loads of 18\u201320 credits require approval through the Credit Overload Approval Form; 21+ credits require dean approval. All overload forms must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar, 101 SSC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>12\u2011Credit Hour Restriction<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Students must complete required general degree courses (Math 100, 105 and English 101, 202, 150, per placement scores) before earning 60 credits. Failure to do so limits registration to 12 credits, which must include the missing math and English requirements.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students placed into remedial math must complete those courses before earning 30 credits; otherwise, they are limited to 12 credits per semester, including the remedial courses, until completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Independent Study\/Thesis Courses<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration for special work, independent study, or thesis courses requires electronic authorization from the department chair. Students should obtain approval during advising, prior to registration. Most courses ending in 95, 96, 97, 98, or 99 (e.g., 399, 796) require this authorization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>W Drops<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A <strong>W<\/strong> is assigned for official drops after the 8th day of full\u2011semester classes. Deadlines for other sessions are listed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/office-of-the-registrar\/session-dates\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"489\">online<\/a>.
