As Soon as possible: activate your UWSP IT Access<\/summary><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p>The Office of International Education (OIE) will send UWSP IT account activation instructions to the email address you used when applying to UWSP. Please follow these&nbsp;instructions carefully.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you&nbsp;have successfully activated your account, send a brief \u201cI did it!\u201d confirmation email\u2014from your new&nbsp;<strong>@uwsp.edu<\/strong>&nbsp;address\u2014to&nbsp;<strong>Dr. Van Den&nbsp;Elzen at <a href=\"mailto:bvandene@uwsp.edu\">bvandene@uwsp.edu<\/a><\/strong>. (Yes, this is your first official&nbsp;homework&nbsp;as a Pointer&nbsp;and \u201cVan Den&nbsp;Elzen\u201d is his complete family&nbsp;name.)&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-create-block-uwsp-accordion-section\"><summary class=\"accordion-heading\">2. Next: apply for campus housing<\/summary><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p>UWSP is a residential campus, and all first- and second-year undergraduate students&nbsp;are required to&nbsp;live on campus in the university residence halls. Please visit&nbsp;<strong>UWSP Residential Living<\/strong>&nbsp;to complete your housing application and secure your place.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a class=\"uwspbtn uwsp-btn-link-purple\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/campus-life\/housing-dining\/housing\/\" target=\"_blank\">Housing &amp; Residence Life <i class=\"fa-solid fa-circle-chevron-right\"><\/i><\/a>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-create-block-uwsp-accordion-section\"><summary class=\"accordion-heading\">3. Next: connect with your academic and career advising center (acac) advisor<\/summary><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p>OIE will introduce you to your assigned ACAC advisor via&nbsp;a message to&nbsp;your UWSP email account. After receiving this introduction, please follow up with your&nbsp;ACAC&nbsp;advisor by&nbsp;campus&nbsp;email to schedule your virtual advising appointment.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are admitted for a fall semester (August) start, it is wise to have this conversation in April or May. If you are admitted for a spring semester (January) start, it is prudent to have this conversation in November.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a class=\"uwspbtn uwsp-btn-link-purple\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/academic-and-career-advising-center\/\" target=\"_blank\">Visit the ACAC <i class=\"fa-solid fa-circle-chevron-right\"><\/i><\/a>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-create-block-uwsp-accordion-section\"><summary class=\"accordion-heading\">4. Ongoing: Keep OIE Informed<\/summary><div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p>Using your UWSP email account, please&nbsp;notify OIE&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When you have scheduled your student visa interview, and&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Once&nbsp;again&nbsp;to share&nbsp;the outcome of the interview.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We like to stay in the loop\u2014and it helps us support you more effectively.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-create-block-uwsp-accordion-section\"><summary class=\"accordion-heading\">5.
