The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Interior Architecture (IA) program is on display this month at the university’s Carlsten Art Gallery.
“Interior Architecture and The Art of Accreditation” follows the courses, projects and skills that students acquire within the four-year professional Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. The show portrays the journey of the life of an interior design student through their technical and creative works.
The exhibit is open now through Friday, Oct. 24. A reception will be held Thursday, Oct. 23, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The gallery, located on the second floor of the Noel Fine Arts Center, is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Tuesdays through Fridays from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The exhibition showcases the evolution of student skills following the UW-Stevens Point IA curriculum for the prestigious Council of Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). UW-Stevens Point’s IA program has a long history of preparing students for the interior design profession and maintaining a rigorous accreditation and review every 7-10 years. With CIDA accreditation, the program provides students with a direct licensure pathway and education that blends academic excellence with real-world skills needed for an evolving design industry.
The Carlsten Art Gallery features a diverse range of exhibitions, from burgeoning student talent to internationally recognized artists, with themes that explore topics relevant to our campus and Central Wisconsin communities. Carlsten Gallery is a space for engaging displays and community-driven events. As part of UWSP’s College of Fine Arts and Communication, the gallery fosters an environment of creative exploration and academic excellence, guided by a dedicated team of faculty, staff and scholars.
