An adaptation of a hit Disney Channel movie will be presented at UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield this August.
“Disney’s Descendants: The Musical” will be staged at the Helen Connor Laird Theatre at UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield, 2000 W 5th St., Marshfield. Shows are August 13-14 at 7 p.m. and August 15 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at tickets.uwsp.edu or at the campus box office starting an hour prior to the show, pending availability.
This stage adaptation of the “Descendants” film franchise is filled with popular songs, comedy and adventure. Imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost – home of the most infamous villains who ever lived – the teenaged children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar and Cruella De Vil have never ventured off the island, until now. When the four troublemakers are sent to attend prep school alongside the children of beloved Disney heroes, they have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?
Under the direction of Donna Thompson, this is UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield’s 20th annual youth summer theatre production. The cast and crew consist of fifty talented Central Wisconsin youth ages 11-18.
“Disney’s Descendants: The Musical is a high-energy adventure the whole family will enjoy,” said Thompson. “It brings together some of Disney’s most beloved heroes and villains while introducing audiences to the next generation of iconic characters.”
Support for this show was provided by the Laird Foundation Endowment of the UWSP Foundation.
