BECOME THE BEST MUSICIAN YOU CAN BE AT UW-STEVENS POINT

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is a special place for music students. The Department of Music is large enough to offer a variety of experiences and challenges, and small enough that our students receive the individual attention they need. The atmosphere is filled with support, encouragement — and music!

Why Choose Music at UW-Stevens Point?

Our curriculum is innovative and emphasizes musical creativity. We want to help you become the best musician you can be. Music students at UW-Stevens Point study with world-class teachers, attend concerts by internationally known performers, and have numerous performing opportunities. Our undergraduate, graduate, minor and certificate programs in music offer students options to complete their music education.

Join Us for Day on Campus

We invite you to visit the UWSP campus and our music school to learn more about the many opportunities waiting for you and the exciting new developments in our program. We would like to design your visit to meet your own personal interests. This can include a free private lesson, tour of our facilities, visits to music classes, and visits to ensemble rehearsals. You will have the opportunity to speak with our faculty as well as current music students, enabling you understand our mission and vision. We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to experience a “Day on Campus”.

Student Auditions

You are on your way towards becoming a member of the UWSP musical family! Whether you are planning on being a music major, minor, or pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree, you will need to audition to be admitted to the Department of Music. Auditions for incoming students typically take place the year before you start studying at UWSP (during the senior year of high school for most people).
