Biography

I have taught at UW-La Crosse, Viterbo University, the University General Requirements Unit of the United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain, UAE, UW Marathon Center, UW Wood County, Lakeland College and UW Stevens Point. I’ve been at UWSP since 1999. I mainly teach Math 355 (the elementary statistics course) but also teach Math 100 (Intermediate College Algebra), Math 119 (Pre-calculus Trigonometry) and Math 109 (Mathematics for the Social and Managerial Sciences).  For Lakeland College, I teach an Algebra course.  I am a member of the Central Wisconsin Math League contest writing team.  For several years I taught a course in number patterns for “College For Kids,” an enrichment program for sixth-graders from around the state. 

Personal interests include music, travel, genealogy (I’ve traced my Danish roots back ten generations to the early 1600s, and am descended from John Libby, who came to America from England in 1636), art, and reading. I play violin in the Wausau Symphony and the OPUS String Quartet, which plays for weddings, parties, charity events, art gallery openings etc. I also play in local community theater pit orchestras and in church. 
Some of the musicals I have played for include Fiddler on the Roof, The Sound of Music, Evita, Funny Girl, Peter Pan, Oklahoma!, The Pirates of Penzance, My Fair Lady, Annie and Anything Goes. I also enjoy bicyclingI have four grown children, and six grandchildren. I am married to Daniel Milkovich. We live in Mosinee.​
