Library Delivery Service

The Library is happy to offer retrieval and delivery service for faculty and staff and retrieval service for students. This service allows faculty and staff to request Library materials for delivery to your office or department, Monday through Friday, during regular office hours (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.). The expected turnaround time for delivery of the material is 24 hours. If you have a more immediate need, please contact the Circulation Desk staff directly by phone at x2540. Students can request that items be retrieved for pickup at the Circulation Desk.

Requests may be placed for any circulating materials that are included in Search@UW, including books, videos, government publications, and bound periodical volumes. We will check out the item to your faculty or staff account and bring it to your office or department, or put it on our hold shelf for pickup. (For articles, you may use the Library Article Retrieval Service and have them delivered via email). Students can come to the circulation desk with their UWSP ID card to check out the retrieved materials.

Make a Request Online Using Search@UW

If you are a faculty or staff member and would like to have an item delivered or placed on the hold shelf (students can also request that items be placed on the hold shelf via Search@UW) You can follow the process below.

When you have found an item that you would like to have retrieved select "Get It" followed by "Sign-in for more options." Click on the "UWSP students, faculty and staff login" link.

Once you have successfully logged in you can click on "Local Request."

Faculty and staff can either select the "Work Address" option to have the item delivered or select "UW Stevens Point Library" to have the item placed on the hold shelf. Students can request that items be placed on the hold shelf by selecting "UW Stevens Point Library." You will receive an email when the item is ready for pickup. Delivery is not available for students. Hold shelf items are returned to the collections if they have not been picked up within 12 days.

Make a Request by Phone or Email

You may contact the Library directly to request delivery of an item. This is the preferred method to request delivery of UW Resource Sharing or Interlibrary Loan items or to request a movie for viewing in your classroom.

Be sure to check the due date of each item, since loan periods vary with types of items. If the material is not immediately available you will be contacted by the Library.

Faculty and Staff may bring item back to the Library, or contact the Circulation Desk by phone or email, and we'll pick them up. Students can return materials to the library circulation desk.
