UWSP Email setup for Microsoft Outlook App on iOS Devices

UWSP provides Office 365 to all students, faculty and staff. As part of the software bundled with Office 365, students, faculty and staff can use the Microsoft Outlook App on Android Devices. Information Technology recommends using the Outlook App with all UWSP.EDU email accounts because the app is relatively easy to setup and it integrates well with other products used at UWSP.

Installation and Configuration:

  1. Install the Microsoft Outlook app from the Apple App Store.

  1. Open the app after installation.
  2. Press "Get Started."
  3. Type in your full email account (e.g. spoin111@uwsp.edu).

  1. Press "Add Account" of "Continue." If the account type is not automatically detected, select Office 365.
  2. When prompted, add your full UWSP account name and password. Next, tap the "Sign in" button.

  1. In the next window, tap "Maybe Later" to continue with the setup.

  1. The Outlook app will offer to take you on a brief tour. You can swipe left to review features or you can press Skip if you wish to immediately move to the next step.
  2. In the final step, iOS will ask your permission to enable two notifications - you can choose to allow or not allow these items.

  1. Once setup is complete, you will be taken to your Inbox.
Note: The newer versions of Outlook have a focused inbox feature that tries to present what emails Outlook thinks are of most importance to you. Some users prefer to turn this feature off by going into Settings (use the 3 line icon found in the upper left-hand corner of the Outlook app) and sliding the “Focused Inbox” to off.
