Information Technology purchases all software for UWSP. This includes physical software and internet-based service software, "software as a service" (SAAS).
Per UW System, all Information Technology related products, including hardware, purchased software and no-cost software,
must go through a review process
to make sure they are supportable in the UWSP computer environment. Each product is reviewed to make sure it will work with other technologies used at UWSP along with making sure it does not create an information security concern. Finally, the review will make sure the products are available through UW Systems purchasing practices. Before requesting any Info Tech product

with the following info (where applicable):
Account for Charges:
Business Justification (i.e., How is the product being used?, Are you logging in?, How?):
Software - Can it integrate with Canvas?:

Once the Information Technology Purchasing Office receives this information, they will begin the review process. Please allow one to two weeks for software reviews.
*Note: Products must be reviewed EVERY year, even though some products may be renewals, and other products may be free.
Installing Newly Acquired Software
Once software has been vetted, approved, and acquired, it will need to be installed:
To install software on up to three machines, contact the
IT Service Desk to perform the install.
For department-use software needing to be installed on four machines or more, please enter an
IT Workorder. Include in your workorder the following:
Computer names that need the installed software
Application name, version, and manufacturer
Number of licenses acquired through IT Purchasing or indicate it is free or unlimited
Current location of software (e.g., IT Purchasing, download link, other)
Preferred completion date.

Work at Home Software
Your UWSP Microsoft Office 365 and OneDrive for Business cloud portal can be accessed from off-campus by logging into
https://office.uwsp.edu with your UWSP logon. You can also download the desktop apps free for home use. Visit our
