UWSP Wired Network
UWSP operates a high-speed wired data network capable of delivering speeds to the end-user device of up to 1 GB/s depending upon location.
Data ports are available in nearly every classroom, computer lab, office, shop, etc., in almost every building on campus. If you need to activate a jack, contact the

UWSP students, faculty, and staff should connect to the secure wireless network that is available in all academic and administrative buildings, the residence halls, Treehaven lodges and Treehaven lounge areas. This network is based on the 802.1x specification for secure user authentication, and WPA/WPA2 encryption. This wireles network is identified as "UWSPWIRELESS".

Outdoor Wi-Fi is available in the locations show in blue on the
Outdoor Wi-Fi map. While you may be able to connect to the outdoor Wi-Fi in areas other than those indicated on the map, at best, your Wi-Fi connection in the unmarked areas will be limited. Please note that when transitioning between the outdoor Wi-Fi system and the indoor Wi-Fi system, your device may take a few minutes to switch between systems. Switching your device’s Wi-Fi off and then back on will speed up the switch between these two systems.
Wireless Access for UWSP Guests
Visitors may connect to the guest wireless network or the eduroam wireless network.
guest wireless network is available in all academic and administrative buildings. Every summer it is also available in the residence halls. This is an open, unsecure network that provides limited access to UWSP resources. UWSP services such as email.uwsp.edu, myPoint.uwsp.edu, and myfiles.uwsp.edu are not available on this network.
To access to the guest wireless network, connect your device to the wireless network connection identified as "UWSP_Unsecure_Guest". Next, open your web browser and register by entering a valid email address.
eduroam wireless network is available in all academic and administrative buildings and the residence halls. This is a secure network and allows visitors from other colleges and universities to connect to it with the credentials of their home institution, provided that their institution also participates in eduroam. This wireless network is labeled as "eduroam". For additional information on the eduroam federation visit
