Course Distribution Lists
Course distribution lists consist of the email addresses for the
instructor(s) and all students enrolled in a specific section of a course
for a given term. Sending a message to a course list ensures that all
students currently enrolled in the course and the instructor(s) of the
course will receive the information.
Who Can Use the Lists
No one can see the membership of the lists to ensure
student privacy. A distribution list will deliver messages sent by the
course instructor or a student enrolled in the course if the message is sent
from a UWSP email address. To obtain permission to send to course
distribution lists faculty, staff and student organizations should contact
the "owning" department for authorization. Each associated department
maintains who can send to these lists. The list used to authorize
access follows the format "dept-discname List- DL Senders"
(Ex. dept-ENGL List - DL Senders). Individuals that are a member
of this list have the ability to send to the course lists for that
department. To obtain access to send to all UWSP course lists, please
contact the Office of the Registrar.
A course distribution list name consists of the curriculum abbreviation,
followed by the 3 digit course cumber, followed by a "." (period), followed
by the 1-4 digit section number followed by an underscore and the six digit
term (examples provided in the table below).
