Important Notice for UWSP Computer Labs

In support of the COVID-19 social distancing mandate, Information Technology has modified our computer lab spacing and services to better serve our students. When working in a physical computer lab, please help us in our efforts to maintain a safe computer lab environment by doing the following:

  • Adhere to the room's posted maximum occupancy which has been modified according to social distancing guidelines.

  • Follow the procedures listed on this page for disinfecting your work area prior to use.

  • Maintain a distance of 6 feet at all times between you and others as you work.

Online access to UWSP's standard campus load software is available through the Remote Lab and by logging in remotely to physical computers located in many computer labs. Online access to computers located in labs that provide class-specific software is also available. For more information, see the following:

  • On-line access to UWSP's Remote Computer Lab. Students can log into these virtual computers from any computer connected to the internet by following these directions. The computers in the Remote Computer Lab have the same software found in UWSP's general access labs.

  • On-line access to UWSP's general use and specialty computer labs located at the Stevens Point, Wausau and Marshfield campuses. Information Technology is using a new technology to allow students to log into computers located in our general use or specialty computer labs from any computer connected to the internet without having to visit our campuses.

All other computer lab services, such as computer lab reservations and guest access, are suspended until further notice.

For questions regarding these changes please contact the Service Desk.
