Paycheck Advance (for new faculty only)

We understand that relocating can be a stressful time and that your first paycheck may be months after you have moved here. To help alleviate some of your stress, as a new faculty member, you are eligible to request a payroll advance for up to 35% of your first pay check. Need help to unload your moving truck? Looking for a sitter for date night? Need help to tame the back yard? Contact Campus Activities and Student Engagement (CASE) to list your part-time job for free!

CASE staff will ask for your basic contact information (name, location, email, phone) and will post your job free of charge. Your posting will go live within 1 business day and students will contact you directly to apply for your position. You set the parameters for the job (timeline, pay rate, etc.). Either an hourly wage or rate for the job is required. CASE staff can help in determining appropriate pay rates for your position. Interested students will contact you directly to apply for the job you have posted. You decide who you will hire. You are responsible for the direct payment to the student. Please note: CASE does NOT check references for any student utilizing the system. Employers are encouraged to do their due diligence before hiring anyone through CASE.

Schmeeckle Reserve


Enjoy the outdoors at UW-Stevens Point's Schmeeckle Reserve located within UW-Stevens Point campus! Explore this 280-acre conservancy area with 5 miles of trails and boardwalks, a 24-acre lake, and a large diversity of habitats that support numerous wildlife species.

Green Circle


The Green Circle is a 26-mile scenic hiking and biking trail that loops through the Stevens Point area and connects with over 20 miles of additional trails. It winds through forests and parks, over wetlands, and along rivers, recalling the days of huge pineries, pioneer settlements, and the lore of the Wisconsin and Plover Rivers.

Adventure Tours

Whether you're looking for an escape to a tropical island to relax on the beaches and explore the landscape or a hiking tour across a diverse stretch of land in another country or stateside, UW-Stevens Point Adventure Tours has a buffet of tours designed to fulfill an array of travelers' needs and desires. Our group tours explore local cultures, dive into beautiful ecosystems, connect with local history, traverse across diverse terrains via foot, raft, kayak, bicycle, snorkel, zip line, etc. while offering additional wellness activities along the way.

Art, Music, Theater, and Dance

The Carlsten Gallery is located on the second floor of the Noel Fine Arts Center. Exhibits include rotating artists of note, student artists, fundraisers as well as a permanent collection that the gallery oversees. Click here for the current exhibition schedule.

Support UW-Stevens Point Arts by attending the annual Arts Bash.

Enjoy a variety of music ensembles, recitals, and concerts throughout the year.

The annual Soirée Musicale supports student scholarship in the Department of Music.

Attend a Theater or Dance production. Make it a night out with First Nighters. A number of packages offer dinner and a show!

Backstage supports theater student enrichment activities to make our productions great!

Camp COFAC is held each summer at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in the College of Fine Arts & Communication (COFAC) and is intended for students entering grades 9 and above as well as students graduating this spring.

Athletics 

Attend one of the great sporting events on campus. UW-Stevens Point competes at the NCAA Division III level and has 20 varsity sports (11 women, nine men).

Centertainment Events

With movies, concerts, club shows, variety acts, travel and leisure activities, there is always something available that entertains and educates. 

Community Lecture Series

The Community Lecture Series is sponsored by the UW-Stevens Point College of Letters and Science (COLS). Speakers feature COLS faculty and staff members who present a variety of relevant topics from their own research in an effort to serve the public good through shared knowledge and insight. The series presents an opportunity for community members to experience and interact with professionals from the COLS. All lectures are free and open to the public.

Faculty Forums

Faculty from the College of Letters and Science (COLS) present their research to UW-Stevens Point Faculty and Staff. Attend a session at the end of your day to learn something new!

Fitness and Recreation Programs

The UW-Stevens Point Fitness and Recreation Programs are dedicated to providing students, faculty and staff of the university many opportunities for involvement in a healthy, safe and competitive environment.

Planetarium and Observatory

Attend a planetarium show or go look at the evening sky at the observatory. The planetarium presents public programs throughout the academic year and during most summers. There is no charge for our public programs. the observatory is open on clear evenings Monday through Wednesday mid-September to mid-December and from late-January to mid-May.

World's Largest Media Trivia Contest

UW-Stevens Point's WWSP radio station holds the annual World's Largest Media Trivia Contest every April. Get a team together or join a team to play 54 consecutive hours of trivia!
