UWSP Financial Aid Application Deadline Date<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although we have no real deadline date as financial aid applications continue to be processed on a weekly basis throughout the year, all application requirements must be complete prior to the student’s last day of enrollment in the aid year. Typically, the\u200b\u200b deadline to apply for financial aid is 1-2 weeks before the last day of your enrollment in the academic year. Be aware, we must receive and be able to make a financial aid offer (in most cases) before the last day of your enrollment in a given term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When will my aid pay?<\/strong>\u00a0Financial aid will begin disbursing approximately one week before your classes begin. It is anticipated aid will begin being applied to UWSP bills\u00a0August 26\u00a0for Fall<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0January 12\u00a0for S\u200bpring<\/strong>.\u00a0Summer disbursement\u00a0<\/strong>is\u00a0anticipated\u00a0to\u00a0begin 10 days before your first course is scheduled to begin.\u00a0<\/strong>Remember, to check the TASK tile in accesSPoint to be sure all requirements are completed to receive your aid. Additionally, if your financial aid will not cover your entire bill, you must pay the remaining balance by the due date or set up a payment plan with\u00a0Student Financial Services<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 2025 – Direct Loan Certification and School Bill<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accepted Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans will begin being certified to the Department of Education in mid-August. First-time loan borrowers must complete Entrance Counseling and the Master Promissory Note (MPN) to receive a disbursement of these loans. New students may not see the Entrance Counseling and MPN tasks completed until loans have been certified. View the TASK tile in acceSPoint to see if there are any unmet requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

University billing statements for Fall are sent from the university’s Student Financial Services office with the payment information. Although you may view charges in your acceSPoint, be sure to review the actual billing information received and check your account periodically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early<\/strong> September 2025 – Credit and Refund<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fall financial aid disburses. Should there be a\u00a0refund, to receive it\u00a0faster, students are encouraged to sign up for\u00a0direct deposit<\/a>\u00a0through accesSPoint.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

September 15, 2025 – Fall Semester Financial Aid Census Date<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025-2026 academic year: Fall awards are finalized based on your enrollment as of September 15 and a financial aid revision may be necessary if your enrollment changes. If you receive a Federal Pell Grant, these awards will be reduced based on your enrollment on the financial ai\u200b\u200bd census date and cannot be increased should your enrollment change after this date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

October 1, 2025 – FAFSA is Available <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA<\/a>) annually for the following school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

December 1, 2025 – New Student Scholarship Application Priority Date<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the priority date for the\u00a0first-year student scholarship\u00a0application<\/a>.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mid-January 2026 – Credit and Refund<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

May 1, 2026 – Priority Date for Filing the FAFSA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applicants should submit their FAFSA data and complete all requirements on or before May 1 to be considered for all aid available. After this day, there is no guarantee that all federal and state aid that you may have qualified for will be available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May\/June 2026 – Financial Aid Offers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In early May, we provide financial aid offers for students enrolled in the upcoming summer term. Offers are emailed to students who have completed their FAFSA and any subsequent requirements. For students not enrolled in summer, financial aid offers are processed at the end of May\/beginning of June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
